LEGOS Going Department 56?
Have you seen LEGOS lately? They definitely have come a far, far way in design since the blocky five-or-six-piece LEGO police cars of the seventies. In addition to new lines of LEGOS dedicated to movies and other franchises, the good ol' LEGO towns are coming back in style as well. We expect them to rival Department 56 town sets in a few years. If we were at LEGO, we'd be busy designing a complete LEGO Santa Village!
Until then, you can start your own LEGO land with the incredibly updated town sets, like the adorable, very French-looking LEGO Make & Create Café Corner above. It's fabtastically detailed with awnings, a rooftop patio and a really thought-out interior -- it's not just a facade. The set also is modular so you can make an entire city block with three other sets, or, if you want to build up not out, you can easily add more floors and pull a few little tycoon moves with creative modifications of your own.
