Although we're a little chagrined Hasbro didn't make retro, smaller (ahem... more affordable) Transformers that have the same quality of the toys of the 1980s, the Transformers Ultimate series is mind-blowing. How they got a toy to shape-shift so intricately still amazes. We've already had a hard time finding these in stock, and we've seen resellers asking twice the MSRP. Beware. ($79.99)

Named one of the Best Inventions of 2006 by 'TIME Magazine', the H-Racer is a toy car run by a hydrogen fuel cell, with a completely miniaturized version of the same tech in hydrogen-fueled autos. It's still brilliant in 2007 and a Top 11 Eco-Friendly Toys pick, too. ($115)
